When contacted by a collection agency regarding a credit card debt, you have the option of paying it in full, or dividing the payments up.
If you want to pay it in full, and have the financial means to do it, then contact the agency about it. Keep in mind that paying off your debt might not affect your credit score. It’ll just show that the collection account was paid, but the information will stay on your report for seven years.
